PROS

1. Saves time
Instead of spending hours, days and weeks trying to attract new subscribers to your youtube channel you can set up a video ads campaign within 30 minutes.

2. Inexpensive
You can spend as little as 1 cent for each view you get to your video. Boost views to your video or your channel. You have the opportunity to generate instant views to your video or your channel.

3. Jump start traffic to your video
When viewers see that your video got a lot of views, they’ll be more
inclined to subscribe to your channel.

4. Specific targeting
With a video ads campaign you can target specific demographics,
topics, age groups, gender and locations.

CONS

1. Costs money
You’ll have to pay a few cents each time someone views your video ad.

2, Test different ads
You may have to test different types of ads to get a high conversion rate. You may have to try sending visitors to a different URL. For example a subscription URL, a channel URL or a video URL that specifically caters to new subscribers.

3. Get untargeted viewers
If you just target general viewers you may get people that are not interested in your content and therefore they may not watch your entire video. This will affect your rankings because YouTube ranks videos based upon high retention rates.

Here are 3 ways to get better results with your video ads campaigns..

1. Create a very targeted audience
You can use placement targeting which means you can play your video before your competitors videos. I use software like Veeroll to find hundreds of videos or video channels where I can play my video before their video. For example I can find videos or video channels that receive millions of views and then play video before their video.

2. Record a professional video
Creating your own video ad takes a lot of time and expertise. Veeroll includes a specific subscribe template which allows you to create a video ad within a few minutes.

3. Have a specific message When scripting your ad you must hook viewers in the first few seconds. You must also include a couple of benefits of why they should subscribe to your channel.

4. Include a strong call to action to get them to subscribe
For example you can create a subscribe button in your video then add an annotation. When visitors click the subscribe button they’ll be redirected to your subscribe link.

How To Create A High Converting YouTube Video Ad With Veeroll Using Professional Templates

Veeroll is web-based software that allows you to quickly and easily create a high converting video ad using professional templates.

Here are the 3 types of ads you can create within Veeroll

Watch the video below…

1. Annotations
These are ads where you add your own clickable annotation to your video after it has been created. The call to action for these ads are positioned in the middle of the screen. When someone clicks on the annotation they’ll be directed to your landing page.

The disadvantage of this method is that Annotations only work on desktop devices. If you want to target mobile users utilize the cards template.

2. EasyClick
EasyClick templates display a link at the bottom left of your video. The link will automatically be added after setting up your ad in Adwords. When someone clicks on the link they’ll be taken to your landing page. If you want to target mobile users utilize the cards template.

3. Cards
Card templates display an arrow that points to the cards. Cards are clickable on both mobile and desktop devices. They have to be manually created from within your YouTube channel after your ad has been created.

Here’s how to create a Video Ad inside Veeroll

Step 1. Create your video ad
Step 2. Add an annotation or card on YouTube
(Skip step 2 if you select an EasyClick template)
Step 3. Create your campaign in AdWords.

Here’s a secret tip..

Annotations are not officially counted as clicks. You won’t pay anything if someone clicks on the annotation however you WILL pay when someone watches your ad for 30 seconds or engages with your ad.

This means you can get annotation clicks for free because
they currently don’t register within AdWords.

If they click “skip ad” you also don’t pay anything.

That’s it!

How To Set Up An In-stream Video Remarketing Campaign In Google Adwords

YouTube Remarketing is a powerful and cost-effective way to show ads to people who have already interacted with your YouTube videos or YouTube Channel.

  • You can then re-engage them with your offers.
  • It remind’s people about your product or service
  • It builds deeper relationships with them
  • It reduces the cost of your video ads

Here are the steps to set up an In-stream Video
Remarketing campaign in Google AdWords

Watch the video below…

  • Log into your Google Adwords account
  • Click “shared library”
  • Under audiences click “view”
  • Now you’ve got to add a remarketing tag to your website
  • All you do is add an email address and adwords will send it to your address
  • Ok here’s is the email “welcome to remarketing with Google”
  • It says “tag your website…place the Google remarketing tag
on all pages of your website.”
  • So you grab the html code then add it to your website
    (before the last body tag)
  • Now you’re ready to set up your remarketing list
  • I’ve already added 2 lists…one for “all visitors” and
one for “viewed an video from a channel”
  • Now you should see “video remarketing” under shared library on the left
  • Click “video remarketing”..then you can create a list
  • So just click on “remarketing list”
  • Now select one of these options here ie…”viewed any video from a channel”
  • Select your channel
  • Enter a name for your remarketing list
  • Duration can be 30 days or 540..put 540 in there
  • Status…open means that new visitors are still being added
    to a particular remarketing list
  • Closed means that no new visitors are added to the remarketing
list so I want to keep it open
  • Initial list size..include users from last 30 days..start with an empty list..just put in the last 30 days
  • Then “create list”
  • As you can see here I’ve already got a lists…”viewed video from channel”
  • After you’ve created a list you’re ready to set up a campaign ad
  • Next we create a new campaign that includes that list
  • Just go to campaign and select “video”
  • Enter all your settings
  • Once you’ve added all your settings you go to click “video targeting”
  • Click “remarketing”
  • Click the red Remarketing box
  • Choose your ad group …in-stream then give your list a name.
  • You just choose a list
  • Here we’ve got this size 56,000…”viewed an video from a channel”
  • Then just move it over to the right (next box)
  • Then click “save” and you’re done

That’s it…you’ve just created your first YouTube
Video Remarketing campaign

Here are 3 important things to keep in mind…

  1. A remarketing list must have at least 100 users within the last 30 days
before you can show your ad to people on the list.
  2. Your remarketing message won’t be shown to people
who are not on the list.
  3. Create a specific video ad that targets the people on your remarketing list.

Generate Clicks On Your YouTube Video With A Free Call-To-Action Overlay Banner

Do you want to drive more clicks to your website or landing page?
Did you know you can get a free advertising banner
on your YouTube video?

Watch the video below..

If you create a TrueView video ad, you can create a Call-To-Action Overlay banner that displays at the bottom left of your video(whether the video play is triggered by a video ad or not). The overlay will appear as soon as the video begins to play and can be closed by the viewer. When viewers click the overlay, they’ll be redirected to your external site (landing page or video) as specified in the overlay’s final URL.

Currently, CTAs remain on the video for as long as the video owner chooses, even if the video is no longer being promoted. You can include a title and a link on the banner so when you click on the link it goes to your opt-in page. The ad banner disappears after about 10 seconds.

Here’s how to create a free call to action
overlay banner on your YouTube video:

  • So we go to the YouTube Video Manager select a video
  • Click the dropdown
  • Click promote
  • Click promote your video
  • Select the campaign budget…in this case we’ll put in $1.00
but we’re not going to actually pay anything
  • Audience…select everyone
  • Next step..put your headline in box
  • Put a description 1 in there
  • Add Description 2
  • The Thumbnail has already been selected
  • Click “next step”
  • It says ‘Sign in to Adwords” so I sign into my AdWords account
  • Here’s your ad copy, budget, potential reach
  • Here’s my in-stream ad
  • Here’s my in-display ad
  • You’ve got add your payment information (if you haven’t already)
  • Click “create and launch campaign”
  • Both in-stream and in-display ads re under review
so I am going to pause the campaign
  • I’m going to go back to my list of “all campaigns”
  • Here it is Campaign #11 so I am going to pause that
  • Now I am going to go back to my video
  • Click “edit”
  • You’ll see an extra link called “call-to-action overlay”
so I am going to click on that
  • And I can put in my headline
  • You can upload an image 74 by 74 pixels..I am going to leave that
  • Put in your display URL and also destination URL
  • Make sure “enable on mobile box is checked
  • Check the sentence..”The content of the call to action overlay
must abide by our Editorial Guidelines
  • Make sure that your ad abides by the Editorial Guidelines
  • Click “Save changes”
  • Let’s check the video…
  • Here it is “Get Free YouTube Traffic”..if I click on
that it goes to my opt-in page
  • That’s all there is to it!

Here are 4 important things to keep in mind…

1. Videos displaying cards will not display a Call-to-Action overlay banner.
2. You can only create one CTA overlay per video and that CTA will
remain on the video whether you promote it or not.
3. The Display link doesn’t have to be the same as the actual link itself.
4. Your call to action overlay will also display on mobile devices.

Now know how to generate free clicks to your video
using a call-to-action overlay.

How To Steal Your Competitors’ Audience With YouTube Video Ads

What if you could show your YouTube Video before your competitor’s videos which get millions of views and subscribers?

It will get you a ton of laser targeted traffic to instantly promote your video. You literally steal some of your competitors’ audience to rapidly grow your own audience. This is called Placement Targeting.

Here’s How To Set-up Placement Targeting Inside Google AdWords:

Watch the video below…

  • Let’s enter the popular keyword phrase “six pack abs” in YouTube
  • Click “search”
  • Now you can see there are a number of ads at the top..I’ve got a very popular one here called “extreme six pack abs workout”
  • Let’s check that out to see if it’s monetized
  • You can see that an ad is playing before the video so that
means it’s monetized and we can play our ad before that video
  • You also see that it’s got over 18 million views and has over 3 million subscribers so this is a good video that we can play our video in front of
  • So we simply copy that URL and we can add it to a text document
  • Ideally we’ll compile a list of maybe several hundred URLS
    of different competitors’ videos
  • Next you want to sign in to your Google AdWords account
  • So all our campaigns are listed here
  • Let’s go down to a test campaign..go to test 4
  • And then we select “video targeting”
  • Select “Placements”
  • Click on the Placements box
  • Select your ad group that you’ve set up..in this case “instream ad group”
  • And then you just go to your video that you’ve selected…copy it and paste it into the text document then click “add placements”
  • And now it says “YouTube Video Placements 1” “Extreme Six Pack Abs Workout”
  • You can repeat this process by creating a list of competitors videos
that are monetized and add all the URLs in the text document
  • You can also “Search for suggestions” so say I put “six pack abs’ in here
  • Click “search”
  • Then check “YouTube Video Placements” “how to get six pack ab
in 3 minutes for a kid”
  • Click the link and here it’s got “how to get six pack in 3
minutes for a kid” in your YouTube video placements
  • After you’ve done that just click “Save”

Keep these 2 important things in mind…

  1. Monitor your campaign over the next few days to see which
placements are receiving the most views
  2. Pause the placements that didn’t receive any views so you
can focus on the ones that are performing the best

That’s it!
Now you know how to steal your competitors’ audience using YouTube Video Ads.

How To Create A YouTube In-Stream Videos Ad Campaign Inside Google AdWords

  • What if you could generate 100s of views or clicks to
your video or landing page in just one day?
  • What if you only had to pay as little as 1 cent per view?

In-stream video ads or Trueview ads as they are sometimes called allow you to play your video before somebody else’s video. You only pay when someone watches your video ad for 30 seconds or if they engage with it.

Here’s how to create a YouTube In-Stream
Video Ad Campaign Inside Google AdWords

Watch the video below…

  • Log into your Google AdWords account by going to adwords.google.com
  • Where it says “All Campaigns” click the drop down
  • Select “Video Campaigns” then scroll down to the red box
  • Click the drop down
  • Click “video” for “video ads on YouTube and across the web”
  • Put your campaign name in here..I’ve got “Campaign 10”
  • Budget..I’m going to put $5.00 per day
  • Because I’m doing an in-stream video ad I unclick “YouTube Search” and unclick “Videos on Google partner sites”
  • Then you can also select “countries and territories”
  • I’m going to leave it as is but you can select United States or you can put in even your own town here if you just want to target a specific town or city
  • Languages..leave it as English but you can choose any language if you’re from a different country
  • Devices…I’m going to leave it at “advanced mobile and tablet options”
  • You can also schedule your ad and “ad delivery” I’m going to leave it as “Optimize for views” but you can also optimize for conversions or rotate evenly
  • Once you’ve done that click “Save and continue”
  • Now you’ve got to create an ad group
  • Before this was called “targeting groups” now it’s called “ad groups”
  • So give your ad group a name..I’m going to leave it as “Ad group #1”
  • You put your video URL in there and as soon as you put that in there it’s got “Video ad type” “drive views, awareness, or conversions”
  • And you can choose your video ad format which is “In-stream” or “In-display”
  • In this case I’m going to choose In-stream
  • You put your display URL in there..this is the
website address that appears in your ad
  • This can also be a video or your YouTube channel trailer..
    here’s my landing page
  • It’s got 3 characters too much so I’m going to remove the www. and http
  • Then for the final URL..this is the landing page where people
    go after clicking your ad
  • It could also be your YouTube watch page or your channel URL
  • In this case I’ve got my landing page
  • You can also select a companion banner
  • I’m just going to use the auto generated image
from the videos in the channel
  • Then give your ad a name..so I’ve got “Video ad 1”
  • The maximum cost per view (MPV)…this is the maximum you wish to pay
  • They are suggesting 5 cents to 20 cents
  • In this case I’m going to just put 1 cent
  • As soon as you put that in there it will give you an estimated reach over here so I get 400-500 views with a predicted budget spend of $5.00
  • For Targeting you can do demographics..in this case you can choose male or female, unknown
  • I suggest you leave this as it is..once you get the campaign
going you can also adjust this
  • Leave Interests as they are
  • You can also narrow your targeting..in this case you can choose Keywords, Placements..this is the videos that play before your video ad
  • Remarketing..these are remarketing lists of people that you’re targeting and topics but we going to leave it as is
  • Then we are just going to save the ad group
  • Click “save ad group”
  • Currently my ad is under review
  • This might take an hour or 2 for AdWords to approve it
  • The name of your campaign will show up in the left side
    here under video campaigns

And that’s all there is to it.
Now you know how to create a YouTube In-Stream Video Ad Campaign Inside Google AdWords.

YouTube Video Ads…How I Got Over 100 Views To My Video For Free

  • Did you know that you only pay for your video ad if somebody watches it for 30 seconds or engages with it, whichever comes first?
  • If someone skips your ad before 30 seconds you don’t pay a cent.

This means you won’t waste money for people that are not interested in your business. It allows you to maximize your budget by delivering the right message to the right people at the right time.

Watch the video below for an example…

  • Here’s an in-stream video ad that is playing before my own video
  • If I click on the links in the ad then the advertiser will pay for their particular ad.
  • If I choose to skip the ad by clicking “skip” within 30 seconds they don’t pay for the ad but if I watch the ad for a full 30 seconds then they will pay for the ad
  • Here’s a video ad campaign where I received more views than what I paid for…
  • I received 1533 impressions. An impression is counted each time your ad is served on Google’s ad networks such as Google.com or other publishers sites, applications.
  • Even though it says I got 434 views in Google AdWords when I checked my video it says I got 685 views
  • That means I got over 100 views for free
  • These people are probably the ones that skipped my ad so I didn’t have to pay for it
  • I got a view rate of 28.31%. The view rate is the number of views your Trueview video ad receives divided by its number of impressions which is 1533.
  • The average cost per view (CPV) was only 1 cent however I paid less than that because I got a 100 free views
  • The total cost was $5.11 cents
  • I had 11 earned views. An earned view occurs when someone who views your ad and then watches another video or videos in a linked YouTube channel within 7 days of the ad view. These additional views are earned views, but you won’t be charged for them.

Now you know how to get YouTube video views for less than 1 cent
per view. You only pay when people actually watch your ad.
