Before you decide on a niche that you’re going to invest in, ask yourself these questions.

  • Do I feel passionate about this niche?
  • How competitive is this niche?
  • Is there a lot of demand and interest instead of trying to be all things to all people in this niche,
  • Is there a sub niche that I can focus on?
The more clearly you can define your audience, the easier to be to create the right content for them.

Alan Heath says from July 2006 to February 2010.

Now he has over 75,000 subscribers because he made a long term commitment. You’ve probably heard the saying, YouTube is a marathon not a sprint. You have to be in it for a long term.

For example I started my challenge on 2006, and only now I’m close to 100,000 subscribers. If I hadn’t consistently uploaded new videos every week over the years I wouldn’t be close to 100,000 subscribers. YouTube is a long term commitment and sometimes you may feel like quitting but if you stick to it then you’ll have success.

The Diego Movies says it took me one year and a two months to reach 1,000 subs. Now I gain that every four days.

The lesson from this test me is that you do the work once and reap the benefits over and over weeks months and even years later. The beauty of YouTube is that it’s a search engine, so if you create evergreen content, those videos will be working for you weeks, months, or even years later.

Every new video that you upload contributes to the success of your channel. It creates a snowball effect. The more videos you upload, the faster your channel will grow.

Mo Beats and Raps says 4.5 years, but now it’s taken me about two months or so to get to 5,000. Don’t stop even though you’re not seeing the results you want. You might be video away from your whole channel changing. That’s what happened to me.

For example this video only gained 207 views in the first 24 hours, but lost one subscriber and the revenue is 26 cents. If I changed it to since uploaded it now has 284,494 views since it was uploaded, gained 1.5000 subscribers and made an estimated revenue of $1,000.

It’s one of the top videos on my channel driving the most traffic.

How many videos do you need to build an audience?

TubeBuddy examined 3.5 million YouTube channels and discovered you need an average of 152 uploads to achieve 1,000 to 10,000 subscribers.

You need an average of 418 uploads to achieve 10,000 to a 100,000 subscribers.

For 100,000 to 1 million subscribers you need to have an average of 1,171 uploads. If you want 1 million or more subscribers you need to average 3,873 uploads.

If you’ve only uploaded 20 to 30 videos to your channel so far, you’ve still got a long way to go to achieve 1,000 subscribers.

Instead of thinking about the big goal of achieving 1,000 subscribers, break it down into smaller goals. For example you can break it down to a monthly goal of like 100 subscribers per month. At the end of the year, you’ll have 1,000 subscribers. The key to achieving 1,000 subscribers is to upload on a consistent basis, and try to improve one thing for every new video that you upload. If something isn’t working then experiment with different ways to deliver your content.

Ultimately you’ve got to satisfy your audience. You’ve got to make videos that your audience wants to watch, and also improve the clicks rate and the watch time for every new video that you upload.
